It's Away!

As discussed in this article, Wendy & I prepared an audition DVD for a food television show. I sent it off today and it will arrive in New York tomorrow. Cross your fingers for us! Big thanks to Robin, Dave, and Wendy for their help and patience…

DINNER 294: Sunday, October 22, 2006

Wendy & I slept in since we were exhausted from THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW at Falcon Theater. We got up in the early afternoon and got right into… shooting our submission for a food television show contest! Our friends Robin & Dave helped shoot the 3 minute audition tape. It took us approximately 90 minutes to shoot it, then several additional hours to edit it into the final 3-minute submission, which we burned to DVD.

Between shooting and editing, we dined at a local Mexican restaurant. I had a cheese quesadilla which was very tasty.

Thanks to Robin and Dave for their help and patience with putting this audition together!

DINNER 292: Thursday, October 19, 2006

Today, I present for you the first ever precognitive dinner report. Yes, right now, I will predict with startling accuracy what I will consume for dinner this evening — before it happens!

I gaze into my scrying stone and sense that my meal tonight will be at The Pepper Pod with Dave, who plays Dr. Scott (great Scott!) in our show. We will sit in a booth, and I will order a salsbury steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cottage cheese. A cola product to drink. Dinner will be good and comforting, but nothing earth shattering. After a nice dinner and good conversation, Dave and I will go over to work on THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW’s final dress rehearsal at Falcon Theater. The show opens tomorrow (and I predict a very full, energetic, and successful run!).

I further predict that the salsbury steak will not ‘sit well’ in my stomach, and I will be a gaseous mass (with apologies to David, who is stuck in the production booth with me!) tonight.

MAJOR UPDATE TO THIS STORY: As it turns out, I am more of an “extra large” and a “medium”… Dave & I met as planned but decided to dine at Lightfoot’s Restaurant instead, and I’m glad we did. We had seafood-stuffed mushrooms, green salads, and fried bologna sandwiches. They were delicious, and the service has improved considerably at Lightfoot’s.

DINNER 291: Wednesday, October 18, 2006

Another technical rehearsal this evening for ROCKY HORROR SHOW at Falcon Theater. The rehearsal went very well, though I was a bit late coming home this evening because of responsibilities at my office (we’re having our accreditation visit this week — stressful!) so we rocketed…
