Last night was a good dinner. We went with some friends to SILLA, a Japanese/Korean restaurant near our house. It's been cold here in Cincinnati, so a warm bowl of Miso Soup was in order. We then enjoyed a zippy green salad with Ginger Dressing,…

A rather peasant meal tonight… It's so cold outside, it saps one's energy. We had a tuna and cheese cassarole, thrown together by your's truly and baked for 30 minutes. Warm, filling, and delicious. Some fresh breadsticks rounded it out nicely.

DINNER: Wednesday, January 22, 2003

It was a conversation with Big Lou from the AccuChef mailing list that got me thinking tonight about one of my signature dishes…

A lovely pureed soup called Apple And Chestnut Soup with Spiced Cream. I decided to make it this evening, so I asked Wendy to gather the ingredients on her trip to the grocery. Since this soup is one of her favorites, she happily obliged.

About 45 minutes later, SOUP WAS ON! A salad of field greens, gussied up with mandarin oranges & croutons in a creamy dressing provided counterpoint to the soup.

Tonight, we whipped up a quick, comforting dinner of tuna & pasta cassarole with a cheesy sauce and a bread crumb topping. It was warming and easy on a Thursday…

Wendy thought it might be interesting to count, at the end of this food posting experiement, how many times we've eaten tuna. Tuna seems to be a staple for us.

Late dinner tonight, from LuLu’s Noodle Bowl near our house. We dined on some pan fried dumplings and two soups… Mine was Pho with Chicken, and Wendy had Tom Yum Me. Filling without being heavy, and the fresh herbs made the soups smooth and wonderful.
