Wednesday, November 8 was the monthly gathering of the Happy Mouth gang, a motley crew of Cincinnati culinary connoisseurs. This was Ron’s month to pick and he decided we should descend on Dee Felice Cafe. It’s a Cajun style joint in the MainStrasse area of Covington, Kentucky. Some of the crew (Ted, Tracy, Kristy, Chuck, and Ron) arrived early to imbibe at the bar. We then joined the rest of the gang (Holly, Angel, Jay, John, and John’s guest, Ringo (actually, Paul)) for our meal.
The Grand Pooh Bah of Happy Mouth, Drew, was unavoidably detained therefore I was charged (with the able assistance of Holly) with leading the meeting. This wasn’t an easy task since Drew left big shoes (not to mention a big waistband) to fill. Nevertheless, Holly and I were able to work as a team to conduct a successful summit.
After we dispensed with parliamentary matters, we all enjoyed our meals of mostly Cajun specialties. Brother Drew then joined us for dessert and all was right with the world.

This evening, this Valentine’s Day evening, several of us braved the frigid cold and met for our monthly Happy Mouth outing. It was Wendy B’s choice, and she selected Thai Cafe’ in Clifton. Thai Cafe’ offers Asian food at reasonable prices. We had Curry Rolls, Edamame, and Paad Thai in two versions — soft noodles for Wendy, and crispy noodles for me. The food was pretty good, though our proteins (shrimp & chicken) were so overcooked as to be nearly unedible. However, it was a fun outing and a good time was had by all!
