DINNER 200: Wednesday, July 19, 2006

Wendy & I went out with a bunch of our friends — Ted, Holly, Rose, Keith, Kristy, Chuck, Robin, and Dave — to paint pottery this evening. We met at Crackpots Pottery at 6:45, but Wendy & I went first to Taco Casa for their excellent Taco Salad (really, it’s the best in town).

After dinner, we went over to Crackpots and painted plates… I made a stark white round plate with the Chinese symbols for MOO SHU PORK on it, and Wendy did a much-nicer pitcher with an Egyptian theme. We’ll get them back in a week and we’ll post pictures at that time. It was a fun evening with our friends! Thanks to Holly for organizing it!

DINNER 197: Sunday, July 16, 2006

Wendy & I had an evening free, so we spent the morning running some errands (we had to stop at Wendy’s hospital to take care of Jake, a dog suffering from a spider bite, then to Jungle Jim’s for groceries, then lunch at the Red Squirrel for lunch, then home!). I prepared a dinner of broccoli soup; tomato, basil and motzarella salad with balsamic reduction; roasted chicken; fingerling potatos; and green beans. The broccoli soup was really good and very simple. The roasted chicken is one of my favorite methods. Recipes for both are below.

Tonight, Wendy & I attended the suprise anniversary party for Bess Arlene and Ossie who are celebrating 25 years of marriage. Their children hosted a lovely party at a clubhouse very near our home, so it was easy to get there and back (a nice…
