DINNER 112: Saturday, April 22, 2006
Tonight, we went out to dinner with our friends Brian & Milan. We try to go out every few months to enjoy some adult time away from everyone and everything else. We very much enjoy their company.
We met at BLUE GIBBON, an Asian restaurant just north of downtown Cincinnati. We all enjoyed our Chicken & Corn Chowder, steamed squid, and cold sesame noodles to start the meal. Moving into entrees, we sampled their tofu currey, shrimp with lobster sauce, salmon with black bean sauce, and schezuan shrimp dishes. Everything was very good and the server was funny and efficient. The Black Opal wine we selected (two bottles) fit most everything we ordered.
From there, we decided to go to HONEY for dessert. Located in Northside, Honey occupies the spot once held by Boca (before Boca moved to the high-rent side of town). Our food at HONEY was pretty good, but the service was lamentable. Even so, we had a great time with Brian & Milan and look forward to our next outing.
