DINNER: Friday, September 26, 2003

Tonight I went to Scilla after dropping Wendy off at the airport. She’s away this weekend (in Tampa Florida) for an ultrasound training course, so I was on my own for dinner.

I went to Scilla and sat at the sushi bar. I ordered three nigiri: Salmon, Sweet Shrimp, and Uni (Sea Urchin Roe). I was looking for the server to order a bowl of miso soup when she brought one out to me — without my ordering it. The sushi-tsu also gave me a bowl of delicious seaweed salad (the sesame oil & seeds make this irresistable). Still hungry, I ordered more sushi — this time, two nigiri of ebe — shrimp.

As I was wrapping up my meal, the sushi-tsu handed over yet another bowl… This time containing ‘dessert sushi’ of fresh mango rolled in thin slices of peeled cucumber. It was delicious! Still trying to escape, I was held up by the server bringing me two slices of perfectly sweet, chilled watermelon.

It was a tremendous meal!
