DINNER: Thursday, May 15, 2003
Tonight, in true foodie tradition, Wendy & I dined on movie theater popcorn at the movie theater, and decided to call that "dinner". Why?
We went to see THE MATRIX RELOADED, and God help us, it's 2 hours and 18 minutes of our lives we will never get back. It's sad to see the producers of a fun, heavy action flick decide they want to go all cerebral on us and foist the load of crap that is THE MATRIX RELOADED on their public.
Sure, the action sequences were great. Sure, there were several that were WAY too overblown. The 14-minute car chase was cool. For 3 minutes.
Story? Sure, but nothing that makes sense. I mean, if you're in the MATRIX (a computer constructed 'misdirection' of humanity), why do you need to fight with knives, sticks, and pikes? Why not just smack each other with buildings? Why fight at all?
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
