DINNER 88: Wednesday, March 29, 2006

On the way to rehearsal, I stopped at a Taco Bell near the theater to sit quietly and eat a burrito and a taco. From there, it was down to the theater. Tonight was our first full-tech run of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I’m…

DINNER 89: Thursday, March 30, 2006

Tonight was final dress of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I’m directing for Falcon Theater. After scurrying working on a few last-minute details, I was ready for the rehearsal. Our friends Rob & Todd sat in on the show, Todd snapping tons of digital pictures…

DINNER 90: Friday, March 31, 2006

Finally! Tonight was the opening night of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I directed for Falcon Theater. After a quick dinner of a Turkey, Cheddar, and Sliced Egg sandwich & some chips from nearby Dixie Chili, I headed to the theater and found lots of last-minute activities as we prepared for our opening night.

We had a good house — maybe the largest number of audience members for an opening night in Falcon’s recent history (we’re checking on that) — and they were very enthusiastic about the show.

Everything went very well. The cast and crew did a great job. I am very proud of them. I wasn’t nervous until about 8:15, when I had just a few minutes of nervousness.

After the show, cast & crew joined in a toast to our opening. Most everyone hung out for a while, but I left early; exhausted.

DINNER 91: Saturday, April 1, 2006

Tonight was the second night of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I directed for Falcon Theater. Before the show, we went to dinner with Jay to a Russian restaurant in Blue Ash called Baltic. It’s a sparse little restaurant, barely anything more than tables and a…

DINNER 95: Wednesday, April 5, 2006

Tonight we had a brush-up rehearsal of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I directed for Falcon Theater. A brush-up is a type of rehearsal where the actors get together and go over their lines and any specific action in a show after they’ve been off…

DINNER 97: Friday, April 7, 2006

Tonight launched the second weekend of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I directed for Falcon Theater. I had a few errands to run after work (pick up some new peppers — the ones from last week were looking a little sad), get dinner, drop off video equipment to the theater, and get some Swedish fish (seemingly the official candy of show I’m involved in!).

Dinner was a quick run through Taco Bell for a couple tacos and a burrito.

The show went well tonight. We had a good audience that was fully engaged in the performances, and my actors did a very nice job.

DINNER 98: Saturday, April 8, 2006

Tonight was closing night of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I directed for Falcon Theater. I spent Saturday morning doing chores around the house and working on my computer. Dinner was in fact a very-late-lunch at Wendy’s, where I had a cheeseburger and a baked potato.…
