DINNER 87: Tuesday, March 28, 2006

Tonight must be the calm before the storm. In a fit of confidence, I gave my actors last night off from rehearsal of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I’m directing for Falcon Theater, to allow them to rest and work on their lines before we…

DINNER 88: Wednesday, March 29, 2006

On the way to rehearsal, I stopped at a Taco Bell near the theater to sit quietly and eat a burrito and a taco. From there, it was down to the theater. Tonight was our first full-tech run of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I’m…

DINNER 89: Thursday, March 30, 2006

Tonight was final dress of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I’m directing for Falcon Theater. After scurrying working on a few last-minute details, I was ready for the rehearsal. Our friends Rob & Todd sat in on the show, Todd snapping tons of digital pictures (I need to get those from you, Todd!).

Before rehearsal, I ran through the drive-in at Wendy’s to get a cheeseburger, a baked potato, and a Frosty.

DINNER 95: Wednesday, April 5, 2006

Tonight we had a brush-up rehearsal of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I directed for Falcon Theater. A brush-up is a type of rehearsal where the actors get together and go over their lines and any specific action in a show after they’ve been off for a few days. It gets the actors’ lines back into their mouths as well as their brains.

Before rehearsal, Angel & I went to Casual Chinese (lousy name, eh?) for Pad Thai and Shrimp in Lobster Sauce. This poorly-named place has what I consider to be the best Pad Thai in the city.

DINNER 97: Friday, April 7, 2006

Tonight launched the second weekend of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I directed for Falcon Theater. I had a few errands to run after work (pick up some new peppers — the ones from last week were looking a little sad), get dinner, drop off…
