DINNER 90: Friday, March 31, 2006

Finally! Tonight was the opening night of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I directed for Falcon Theater. After a quick dinner of a Turkey, Cheddar, and Sliced Egg sandwich & some chips from nearby Dixie Chili, I headed to the theater and found lots of…

DINNER 91: Saturday, April 1, 2006

Tonight was the second night of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I directed for Falcon Theater. Before the show, we went to dinner with Jay to a Russian restaurant in Blue Ash called Baltic. It’s a sparse little restaurant, barely anything more than tables and a bar with a television playing Russian DVDs.

Despite the complete lack of ambiance, the restaurant is cozy. Our server was knowledgable about the items on the menu. We started with perogies and salad, then moved into entrees of stuffed portabello mushrooms, chicken kiev, and little dumplings that Jay got. Everything was very good, hearty, and filling. A nice send-off to the second night of the show, which went very well.

DINNER 98: Saturday, April 8, 2006

Tonight was closing night of DINNER WITH FRIENDS, the show I directed for Falcon Theater. I spent Saturday morning doing chores around the house and working on my computer. Dinner was in fact a very-late-lunch at Wendy’s, where I had a cheeseburger and a baked potato.

Around 6:30, Wendy & I headed down to the theater. The show went very well, and was attended by a large and appreciative audience. It was, I believe, our best audience and the actor’s best performance. We certainly closed on a strong note. Afterward, our House Manager informed me that this was the season’s best-selling show.

The cast, crew, and I went for post-show drinking and merriment to Claddagh Irish Pub in Newport on the Levee.
