HAPPY MOUTH — April 2003

HAPPY MOUTH — April 2003

April’s Happy Mouth was selected by Jay, who chose MITCHELL’S FISH MARKET down at Newport on the Levee. We had a private dining room in the back of the restaurant, quite cozy. Oysters, clams, and loads of exceptional seafood dishes were served.

HAPPY MOUTH — June 2003

Tonight was Happy Mouth night! It was John’s turn to pick, and he selected NICK & TONY’S, a chop-house in downtown Cincinnati. Ted, Tracy, Jay, Kristy (minus Chuck — working), Holly (minus Ed — babysitting), John, special guest Greg, Doug, Meg, Wendy, and Drew all…

DINNER: Tuesday, July 15, 2003

Tonight, I took part in the monthly WINE DINNER celebrating the wines of California’s Sonoma Valley at the Iron Horse Inn in Glendale. I attended with my friends Doug & Meg (both chefs), and we sat at a communal table with Annie (the pastry chef at Iron Horse) and her friend Phil.

HAPPY MOUTH — September 2003

HAPPY MOUTH — October 2003

HAPPY MOUTH — October 2003

Tonight was the October meeting of the HAPPY MOUTH SUPPER CLUB and we (Ted, Holly, Ed, Jay, Meg, Doug, Kristi, Chuck, Ron (our newest member), Wendy, and Drew) dined at the Chokolate Morel in Mason Ohio. This is a chef-owned restaurant in an old house that has been lovingly & artistically renovated.

The food is awesome — from the outstanding Amuse-Bouche through the appetizers (Havarti & Crab Fondue, Fire Island Carribean Shrimp, Castaway Potatoes, and House Pate) to the entrees (Baked Mac & Cheese, Roasted Porko Loco, Espresso Seared Tenderloin Medallions, Conquistador Stew, and Colorado “Vaquero” Strip Steak), everything was very tasty.

Any wise patron of the Chokolate Morel knows to save room for dessert. We enjoyed their Chokolate Morel Mousse, Havana Banana, Warm Sun Dried Cherry Custard-Style Bread Pudding, and Chokolate & Port Pairing.

HAPPY MOUTH — December, 2003

Ed selected our destination this month, choosing Swami’s MAYURA in Clifton. Several members of the group braved the cold to enjoy the warmth and generosity of Swami, who played host to all of us and tantelized us with excellent Indian food.
