DINNER 194: Thursday, July 13, 2006
I had a flurry of activity before me this evening when I got home from work. I had to do laundry, take care of the animals, be interviewed over the telephone for an article (to be published next week), cook my dinner (nothing special — just a Stouffer’s French Bread Pizza), get changed and get ready for our second Salsa class.
Tonight our salsa instructor reviewed everything we learned in the first class and taught us a few more steps. The class was really fun this evening. One of the things we do in class is switch partners because a different partner can help point out where you’re sloppy. Talking with my partner, I asked what she did for a living and when she told me she is a veterinarian, I told her that Wendy is too. She countered with the fact that her friend, also in our class (though absent tonight) is also a veterinarian. That means that three of the four women in the class are vets!
Small world.
We stood outside and Dr. Wendy & Dr. Baker talked for a long time about their various businesses. I’ve observed that vets tend to work in a world that is somewhat isolated, especially from other vets. They seem to generally enjoy talking with other vets when given the opportunity, so we stood in the parking lot of the community center and chatted (and got eaten by bugs).
On the way home, Wendy & I stopped at the Creamy Whip in Green Hills for some ice cream. Once we got home, we got caught up on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE before hitting the sack.
