Oven-dried Carrot Strips

These oven-dried carrot strips are a nice light twist on the fried parsnip strips or other fried garnishes; you still get all the flavor and crunch -- without the fat.

Ingredients

2 large Carrots Peeled
to taste Salt


 

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 250.

2. Using a hand peeler, peel strips the length of the carrot.

3. Lay the strips flat on a nonstick sheet pan and sprinkle lightly with salt.

4. Dry in the oven at 250 for 20 to 30 minutes or until lightly golden and dry to the touch. The carrots may curl up a bit. Store in an airtight container at room temperature until needed.
