Mom Vogel's Lasagna

Ingredients

2 pounds Ground Chuck
1 clove Garlic Minced *OR* 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 tablespoon Dried Basil
1 1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 can (2 cups) Tomatoes Peeled Chopped
2 ea 6 ounce c Tomato Paste Totaling 1 1/3 Cups
3 cups Cottage Cheese Trauth Brand Is Best
1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated
2 tablespoon Parsley Flakes
2 ea Eggs Beaten
1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
1 pound Mozzarella Cheese Grated Or Sliced
10 ounces Lasagna Noodles


 

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375.

2. Brown ground chuck. Drain fat.

3. Combine minced garlic, dried basil, salt, tomatos, and tomato paste and add to meat. Simmer mixture for 30 minutes.

4. Cook lasagna noodles. Drain and rinse in cold water.

5. Combine cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, parsely flakes, eggs, and pepper. Mix well.

6. Starting with noodles on the bottom, alternate layers of noodle, cheese mixture, mozzarella, and meat sauce.

Can be made ahead to this point. Allow to come to room temperature before proceeding.

7. Cook in preheated 375 oven for 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
